Gifted with the exceptional “historic” memory of all his people, faithful to the values of “compulsory public education”, little Norman will never forget Lila. He tries to make himself worthy of it, studies, suffers from jealousy because of the handsome German Hans von Schwede, becomes the secretary of Count Bronicki before the departure of the family in Poland,where he joined them in June 1939, just before the explosion of the second world war which forced him to return to France.
